Now Available: Geocortex Essentials 3.14 and Geocortex Viewer for Silverlight 1.9

Latitude Geographics is pleased to announce the general availability of Geocortex Essentials 3.14 and the Geocortex Viewer for Silverlight 1.9 which introduce a number of feature additions and incremental enhancements.

Geocortex Essentials 3.14

Key additions:

  • Graceful handling of services with intermittent availability; allows Geocortex sites to continue operating when referenced map services are unavailable
  • Printing with graticules
  • Ability to configure the default visibility of layer labels
  • A new generic utility REST endpoint for extracting FeatureSet geometries to Shapefile (Used by Extract Markup to Shapefile functionality in Geocortex Viewer for Silverlight 1.9)
  • Support for ArcGIS Server 10.1 Cached Image Services
  • An updated language tool to help support translation of both Geocortex Essentials Manager and the Geocortex Viewer for Silverlight
  • Performance improvements; and
  • New and updated Geocortex Workflow activities, including the ability to set the default value(s) of ComboBox and ListBox form items with runtime modifications

Geocortex Viewer for Silverlight 1.9

Key additions:

  • A “Home” panel feature, provided primarily at viewer start-up to focus users’ attention on key information and application capabilities; these can be created and customized using basic HTML markup
  • Toggle visibility of layer labels from the layer list
  • Scale-dependent base maps. When a user zooms within set scale ranges, the base map service becomes visible; when the user zooms out of scale range, the base map becomes invisible
  • New toolbar button to extract and download user-created markup as a Shapefile; and
  • Users can change the geographic coordinate system associated with their on-screen mouse coordinates

  • Numerous new and updated Workflow activities

Latitude Geographics is happy to announce the general availability of Geocortex Essentials 3.12 and the Geocortex Viewer for Silverlight 1.8. These product releases offer many  enhancements and other improvements.

Geocortex Essentials 3.12

Key additions:

  • ArcGIS Online Web Map integration
  • Layer-level and component-level security
  • Site inheritance

Geocortex Viewer for Silverlight 1.8

Key additions:

  • Time aware layer sliders (ArcGIS Server, WMS)
  • Reverse geocoder (show address at point clicked)
  • Batch geocode uploaded CSV/Excel files
  • Undo/redo markup
  • Dynamic symbolization enhanced with unique value renderer
  • Query builder enhanced with spatial filter

Also being introduced as part of this announcement is our new Advanced Editing Extension for Geocortex Essentials. Beyond the standard editing tools included with Geocortex Essentials, this optional extension provides additional tools and features that enable more advanced editing operations via ArcGIS Server. Specifically, this initial release includes the following capabilities for the Geocortex Viewer for Silverlight:

  • Copy a feature from any layer to an editable layer
  • Enable vertex and edge snapping to any geometry on any layer
  • Trace complex lines and polygons with a line following tool

New Geocortex Releases – Essentials 3.11 & Viewer for Silverlight 1.7

Latitude Geographics is pleased to announce the general availability of Geocortex Essentials 3.11 and the Geocortex Viewer for Silverlight 1.7. These product releases offer numerous enhancements and improvements. Highlights include:

Geocortex Essentials 3.11

  • Support for ArcGIS 10.1 Dynamic Layers
  • Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 support
  • A new Layer Security Framework: A pluggable framework for providing fine grained authorization of layers based on users and roles*
  • A new Layer Catalog Framework: A pluggable framework for providing a catalog of layers that administrators and end users may use to add layers to the current site**
  • Layer Hyperlinks: Administrators can now configure a list of hyperlinks belonging to a layer. These can be used to create automatic links to layer metadata
  • Queryable Layer Property: Administrators can now configure which layers should be included in viewer components that perform queries, such as the Query Builder
  • Numerous Workflow performance and Workflow Designer improvements, as well as 19 new and updated Workflow Activities

*In order to use the Layer Security Framework, customization is currently required; however, stay tuned for an out-of-the-box implementation enabling configurable layer authorization in the coming months.

Geocortex Viewer for Silverlight 1.7

  • Now offers Dynamic Symbolization: Customize the symbology and rendering of map information. Also specify rendering based on attribute values, on-the-fly
  • Support for ArcGIS 10.1 Dynamic Layers
  • Layer Drawing Order: End-users can now drag and drop layers and map services to change the drawing order of the map
  • Filter Builder: A variation on Query Builder that allows an end user to filter the features of a layer that appear on the map
  • Support for ArcGIS 10.1 Datum Transform parameters
  • Search and Identify on user added graphics layers such as uploaded Shapefiles and CSV files (uploaded Shapefiles now honor attributes in uploaded DBF files)
  • Label Markup: The existing Text Markup tool has been enhanced to support the addition of labels for user-selected fields associated with a given location
  • Layer Hyperlinks: Layer Hyperlinks configured by an administrator are now presented in the layer action menu. These can be used to automatically link to layer metadata
  • Download Saved Project Files: End-users can now save projects to their local file system
  • Support Degrees Decimal Minutes Coordinate Format: The coordinate tools now provide support for input and output of Degrees Decimal Minutes (DD° mm.mmm’) formatted coordinates

Geocortex Viewer for Silverlight 1.5.2 Released

Update: Latitude Geographics has just released the Geocortex Viewer for Silverlight version 1.5.2, containing an important fix to a bug found in the Viewer 1.5.1 release. Please consult the release notes (found in the “Downloads” section of the Support Center) for information in the specific bug; more information on the Geocortex Viewer for Silverlight version 1.5.1 release is in the May 29 blog post.

Geocortex Viewer for Silverlight 1.5.1: Now Available

We’re pleased to announce that the Geocortex Viewer for Silverlight 1.5.1  maintenance release is now available. This release offers two new features (the ability to run commands from a feature description in the results list, and inclusion of the latest version of Geocortex Forms), and a number of bug fixes. As with all of our maintenance releases, we’ve focused primarily on quality improvements.

We encourage our customers to consult the release notes (found on our Geocortex Support Center with the release download) for more detailed information. Should your organization be served by an Authorized Geocortex Reseller, please contact your account representative for access to installers and documentation.

New Geocortex Releases: Essentials 3.8 and Viewer for Silverlight 1.5

We’re pleased to announce the general availability of Geocortex Essentials 3.8 and the Geocortex Viewer for Silverlight 1.5.

Customers can consult the release notes, and download installers and supporting documentation from the Geocortex Support Center; we’ve also created a series of short videos for our customers describing new features in further detail.

Highlights of these releases include:

Geocortex Essentials 3.8

  • Search related data (searchable datalinks). This allows administrators to configure searches against external (non-spatial) database tables, and associate the results with spatial features
  • Support for ArcGIS Server Tables and Relationships
  • 18 new workflow activities, including feature editing, linear referencing, collections and dictionary utilities, and datatable conversion activities
  • Interval refresh for map services: allowing automatic refresh of data if changes to the data source are frequent
  • Feature Highlight color configuration: set different colors for different layers
  • Support for Geocortex Viewer for Silverlight 1.5

Geocortex Viewer for Silverlight 1.5

  • Support for new Geocortex Essentials 3.8 features, including searchable datalinks, ArcGIS Server Tables and Relationships, and new workflow activites
  • A new help and tutorial framework: designed for end-users to learn GIS concepts and work effectively with the user interface. This also provides a framework for application designers to “plug-in” custom help content
  • Support for ArcGIS Server Feature Attachments. If your data has feature attachments (such as .XLSX, .DOCX or .PDF files), you can now access them through the Viewer
